And you may ask yourself, “Well… how did I get here?”
David Byrne
That’s a damn good question. I’d say for most of my adult life, I’ve been cash poor but wise enough to pay myself first and attempt to fill my retirement buckets as best I could. I’ve chased material things, taken out new car loans and attempted to keep up with the Joneses but avoided credit card balances. I’ve been fortunate to have a supportive and finance savvy family that has the patience to wait for me to ask for help. Talk about long game. My sister tipped me off to a number of excellent personal finance blogs and a sleeping finance bear awoke. I found a perfect partner in Mrs. Dress Pockets instead of a midlife crisis who is strong where I’m weak. She is dancing through frugality, minimalism and the simple path to wealth with me.
